Trump Warns of ‘World War 3’ Over Ukraine Ceasefire

U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a stark warning about the potential for global conflict if Russian President Vladimir Putin refuses to accept a proposed 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine. Trump emphasized the gravity of the situation, stating that escalating tensions could lead to World War III.

The ceasefire proposal, crafted during U.S.-Ukraine talks in Saudi Arabia, now awaits Moscow’s response. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has urged Trump to take decisive action if Putin rejects the deal. Trump revealed that his administration has received “positive messages” from Russia regarding the proposal but remains cautious. “A positive message means nothing” he remarked during a press briefing at the White House.

To advance negotiations, Trump’s Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff, has embarked on a mission to Moscow for direct talks with Russian officials. Trump expressed hope for progress, saying, “Our people are going to Russia right now as we speak. And hopefully, we can get a ceasefire from Russia.”

However, Trump did not shy away from issuing a financial warning to Russia. He stated, “I could do things financially that would be very bad for Russia” while clarifying that his ultimate goal is peace. Despite these efforts, the Kremlin has yet to confirm its stance on the ceasefire, leaving the international community in suspense.

Trump’s remarks underscore the high stakes of the ongoing conflict and the urgent need for diplomatic resolution. The world watches closely as the situation unfolds, with hopes pinned on a peaceful outcome to avoid further escalation.
